A walk around the pond

The other day was one of those beautiful summer days ~ 70s, gentle breeze, with a couple of clouds decorating the sky. So, I decided to take a walk around the pond to see what I could find. Of course, the more I paused the more I saw. I tried my best to take a picture of what I came across, but many of the critters were faster than my shutter.

I did happen upon some critters mating. They gave me a chance to focus.black red face mating grasshoppers

The frogs could hear me coming, so I missed most of them except this fellow who seemed to be having a staring contest with a tadpole.frog and tapole

The pollinators loved the Boneset. Look at the full pollen sacs on the bees.bee with pollen sac on bonsetbees loving bonset

The Orb spiders were very busy on the land ~ I saw two.Orb Web SpiderI can’t believe the Dragonfly posed for this picture. So many others didn’t have the patience for me to focus.

Days like this one always remind that I need to pause so that I can really see the world around me.grasshopper
