We live in an area surrounded by spectacular gorges with four state parks that showcase many of them. Bonus: they are all within a 30 minute drive from our home. Yes, we are very fortunate. Of course, I try my best to take advantage of these amazing hiking opportunities that are so close to home. The other day, after dropping Mathew off at camp, I decided to take a morning hike in Watkins Glen State Park<\/a>.\u00a0I hiked along Glen Creek, which is carving out the gorge. It is a fairly short trail, but, within two miles, the Glen Creek descends 400 feet past 200-foot cliffs, and generating 19 waterfalls along its course. It is quite magical to say the least.<\/p>\n
