The weather was perfect; not a cloud in the sky and the temperature was in the 60s. I went for a hike with a friend in one of our local state parks, where we saw signs of spring everywhere. So, I decided to take photos of all the wildflowers along the trail and share them. The flowers were white or white with a hint of purple. It looks similar to dandelion but unlike dandelions the coltsfoot flower blooms before the leaves come out.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.knowyouroots.com\/ijustgottashare\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Blue-Violet.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-961\" alt=\"Blue Violet\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.knowyouroots.com\/ijustgottashare\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Blue-Violet.jpg?resize=584%2C470\" width=\"584\" height=\"470\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.knowyouroots.com\/ijustgottashare\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Blue-Violet.jpg?w=758&amp;ssl=1 758w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.knowyouroots.com\/ijustgottashare\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Blue-Violet.jpg?resize=300%2C241&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.knowyouroots.com\/ijustgottashare\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Blue-Violet.jpg?resize=372%2C300&amp;ssl=1 372w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I was delighted to see some Common Blue Violets (<em>Viola papilionaceae).\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0I love adding the tender young leaves and blossoms to our salads.\u00a0They are tasty and \u00a0liven up an average salad.<\/p>\n<p>As you can see, I\u2019m not such a good photographer or the wind moved the flowers while I was taking their pictures so the pictures are not as good as I hoped.\u00a0 I almost scrapped the idea of blogging this walk but I thought what the heck, it\u2019s what happened and part of the blog is about what happens. I guess I could have gone out and to try and get better pictures but I am trying to be authentic here and some things work out well while others do not\u2026 that\u2019s life. Regardless, I think you have gotten a good idea of what the blossoms look like.<\/p>\n<p>I hope you have the opportunity to take some spring walks. Every day there are new things to see.
